The 30-mile stretch from Pierre to Vivian is very scenic and is a perfect bike route. The shoulder is wide enough and the rolling hills looked like fun! We stopped for lunch at a local Mexican and I was so stuffed that had to lay down as he was driving. We arrived at a tourist trap called the 1880 Town, they ripped us off with the $16.00 entrance fee and we felt stupid for having fallen into the trap.
We arrived at Badlands N.P. around 5:00PM - What an astonishing view!!! Perfect timing. We pulled in for the night at the campground inside the park. Paid the fee happily this time, and watched the sunset in awe.
